PROBABLY THE FINEST EXAMPLE ON THE PLANET!
MID/LATE 1940’S MODEL 3-5.5″ HUNTER IN OUTSTANDING CONDITION!
This Model was first introduced in this configuration in 1943. These early versions had a slight slant to the single brass hilt, a very narrow handle tapered down towards the hilt, AND a peened tang! Also, the 5 1/2″ blade length versions did not hang around very long after their introduction.
Another telltale sign of early manufacture is the Hieser sheath. The riveted wide throat design, WITH A RIVETED KEEPER STRAP, and small brass, unpainted snaps!
I’m asking $1995 for this museum quality knife. There is a similar Model 3-6″ on eBay right now that the seller is asking $4500 for! This one is much nicer!
